The determination of abrasion resistance is measured by subjecting the specimen to a geometric motion against a standardized abrasive media (fabric) applied by a specific force. It is an oscillating test in which fabric samples are rubbed with abrasive material in a figure-eight-like motion. The results are evaluated by either of these methods:
on a woven fabric when two or more yarns have broken;
on a knitted fabric when a hole appears;
a change in shade or appearance that is evaluated against the AATCC gray scale;
the loss of mass, as a percentage or in milligrams.
Each full turn of the round table is considered one rub, so the number of cycles determine the abrasion rating. A result of 5.000 Martindale means actually that 5.000 full turns have been applied to the fabric before the above mentioned results (2 or more yarns have broken etc.) have accured.
Using the Martindale test, a rating of 20,000 cycles is considered “general contract upholstery,” and 40,000 cycles is considered “heavy duty”.
机织物,在两根或更多纱线断掉的情况下深圳翻译公司;
针织物,在出现孔的情况下;
在美国纺织品染化师协会(AATCC)灰卡进行评估的情况下颜色或外观发生变化;
